Christmas in Seoul

We did our best to recreate an Australian style Christmas in Seoul. We sourced some things locally but also had some things sent from Australia like gravy, Christmas crackers and Christmas chocolate. Our friends Han and Sophie and their kids Alice and Gyo joined us for Christmas lunch.

Hyunwoo (from Talk to Me in Korean) and his family also visited in the afternoon.

KOREAN SPICY PIG’S FEET

Jokbal is something that sounds weird if you aren’t used to eating all sorts of animal parts, but it can be pretty delicious. This particular restaurant, Jokbal Gwishin in Mapo is amazing. We took Joel there when he was in Korea because he hadn’t had spicy jokbal before.

What to do on a Korean public holiday

We went to the Han river with a bunch of our friends. Han and Sophie and Alice have moved back to Korea! It’s awesome to be able to see them regularly. (Sophie’s blog about raising a bilingual child is here).

We also went with with Hyunwoo and his wife Mikyung and their son Joon. Also our friend Megan Bowen (on YouTube Chonunmigooksaram) came as well. We all live in a similar area in Seoul, so it’s great to be able to spend time together like this. It was a public holiday so there were so many people in the parks at the river, but it was a lot of fun. It’s so nice to see Joon and Alice playing together!

Valentine’s Day Vlog

This is what we did on Valentine’s day:

It was actually pretty fun to go by the YG Building, there was definitely activity and I know a lot of recording is happening there are the moment. The fans waiting were also very nice and respectful. Two Korean girls asked us questions thinking we knew Big Bang’s movements and if they were inside right now… not sure why they thought we would know, we were probably more clueless than everyone else there! If you do like YG groups I do recommend a visit to the YG building if you are in Seoul, although you may not see anyone famous, it’s cool to be in the area and read all the messages for YG artists.

We had a really good Valentine’s Day. I think it’s a good idea to share it with our couples because it takes a lot of pressure off it. Because it can be tiring to be lovey dovey all day! Instead, eat lots of food and be with good people.
