Nicholalala Webtoon Episode: Hundred

READ FULL EPISODE HERE!

There have been 100 episodes of Nicholalala! That’s kind of unbelievable. I hope to make many more. Big thank you to Naver (through LINE Webtoon) for picking me up as a featured artist and letting me explore my creativity with this series. Also thank you to everyone who has been reading along. There is a bit of a twist at the end of this episode.

Nicholalala Webtoon Episode: A Real Dokkaebi?

READ FULL EPISODE HERE ON WEBTOONS.

It’s been very cool to see Korean folklore in Korean TV dramas, especially folklore I use in my webtoon. How people view dokkaebis is definitely changing because of this popular drama. We have been enjoying this drama a lot, I just hope it finishes well and has a satisfying end. If it doesn’t, maybe I can just write my own ending in the Nicholalala webtoon. Please like, comment and share!

Nicholalala Webtoon episode: It Hurts

Read the final episode in this mini story within the webtoon HERE.

I wanted this story to have an unhappy ending because I do get frustrated with the story-lines of drama webtoons and Korean dramas on TV. When the handsome lead guy breaks up with the girl there is always some reason: he is trying to protect her, his mother forced him too, he thinks he doesn’t deserve her. It’s all nonsense and gives young girls unrealistic expectations about relationships when the reality is that people will break up with you and there is no hidden reason, they simply aren’t in love with you anymore. Story-lines in these romance webtoons and dramas also allow the guy to be quite harsh and abusive to the girl but in the end it’s all okay because he still loves her and was trying to “protect” her. His bad behaviour isn’t called into question at all. I want people to know that it’s not okay for someone to hurt you like that and there isn’t some hidden reason for why you should accept that type of behaviour. The good news is that even if the guy who you thought was the romantic hero in your life doesn’t want to be with you anymore, you will be okay and you will move on and you will meet someone better.

Ghosts and Korean Folklore

This was a very spur of the moment video. We were showing a friend around the village and started talking about ghosts so I filmed a bit with my phone. We covered only a few ghost stories in this area as there are many more. There are many falling down, creepy houses too. Although I make a webtoon that has ghosts and supernatural beings, I’m actually quite a skeptical person and take these stories with a grain of salt. (But I mean… Of course all the characters in the Nicholalala webtoon are real!!! haha).
