While Waiting

While Waiting

For several days we have had someone from EBS filming us. Sometimes it’s just one camera man/producer and sometimes it’s two. Being filmed hasn’t been so bad but the schedule has been exhausting! All up it’s about 7 days of filming for just a 30 minute program. Usually we wouldn’t be doing so much stuff, but we need to be doing lots of stuff for the camera.

So that’s why this comic is so delayed, it’s the middle of the night but I stayed up to do it. Comics take twice as long when I’m tired too. Mr Gwon is out partying with the camera guys and some friends, but I needed some quiet time.

By the way, we didn’t break the camera!

The Meet Up Was Great!

We had a really great time at the meet up. Thank you to everyone who came. We expected only a few people but I think it ended up being about 20 people. Everyone was so nice and we had an awesome time. There are a few photos on Facebook mostly from the second place we went to. We started at the cafe, then moved on to a restaurant and then some of us went to a bar and then finally another restaurant. So much talking!

I haven’t done a comic yet for today but I’ll try to do one later. I’m typing this while still in the hotel bed- I’m exhausted but trying to wake up properly because we need to go out and have EBS film us some more.

I Did It

I did it

Always claiming other people’s romantic gestures! One day he is going to do something big and elaborate for me and I’ll be like “As if you did this!” and not believe him.

Going to Seoul Today

We go to Seoul today!

We are going to a publishing company that has offered me a book deal. I’m still not 100% certain that I will sign the deal yet, but we’ll see how things go.

We also have the Seoul Meet up tomorrow!

We’ll hopefully have another video uploaded later today, so check back!

In other news, if you’d like us to be invited to KCON this year please tell the KCON organisers. KCON is a Kpop convention in California. I’m not sure if we fit the type of panelists they are looking for as we aren’t completely about Kpop- but we do some Kpop stuff. You can recommend us on their Facebook Page or Tweet them @KCONUSA with the #kconfeedback tag/.

Too Much Food

Too Much Food

Mr Gwon always get fat when we come to Korea! He just can’t help himself when it comes to Korean food. We are really encouraged to eat when in Korea too, friends and family are always urging us to eat.

He is a little worried about the meet up on Saturday because he has put on so much weight in the past 2 weeks. He’ll have to hit the gym hard when we get back to Australia.

By the way….. EBS is filming me right now hahaha.

Sitting on the Floor in Korea

Sitting on Floor

This is one of the most difficult things for me when I’m in Korea. There is no sofa in Mr Gwon’s parents’ house. There are about 2 chairs and I’m using one right now while I sit at a desk. Every restaurant we go to in this area are ones where you have to sit on the floor.

I’m just not used to sitting on the floor for long periods of time. Also, I think the way my body is doesn’t help. Mr Gwon is taller than me but my legs are actually longer than his. I also have underlying health problems that cause some pain in my legs, so sitting on the floor is never comfortable for me unfortunately.

It’s not like I never sit on the floor or ground in Australia. Picnics outdoor are fine because they are well…. picnics! But maintaining a respectful position for a long period of time because I am with my in-laws or older Koreans is difficult, and very different from lazing around outside.

I don’t know how much other people have problems with this. Do you get pain from sitting on the floor? Pins and needles? I have trouble getting up as well, that can be a bit painful.

When we move to Korea next year we will definitely need to get a sofa.
