Quite a scary prospect.. Girls still can be a little pricy, and not totally cos they expect it, but it is nice to do things for them, and if you do nothing, or have some money and never spend it on them, they are gonna thing you are a selfish jerk any way... Elizabeth and I ususally split cost and go halves or I do something one time, she does it the next ect. And when things dont break exactly even, we are not worried. I still like to surprise her with nice things from time to time, cant help myself..

After our trip to Qld, I got her a lot of clothes off her modcloth wish list, as i bribed her to go on all the scary rides at the theme parks. But it was a choice I made. I hope she will remember and appreciate it and not expect it again any time soon though lol

I'm unsure why Koreans like to count days like that for anniversaries. I think for a marriage they'd celebrate the yearly ones but some will also continue celebrating certain amounts of days.

I can't remember all the other types of days there are- things like rose day, chocolate day, music day. Then birthdays and stuff on top of that. Some Korean guys whose girlfriends expect everything have talked about being exhausted at having to do all these things. Not to mention financially as well. It is common to hear guys say "I don't have enough money to have a girlfriend right now" or sometimes if a guy borrowed money from friends and didn't pay him back but then got a girlfriend it is proof that he is avoiding paying it back. And the friends will say "but he has a girlfriend!" as proof that he must have some money. Not all girls expect everything like that but there are some that really do.

Thanks for the info. Heard most of that kind of system before, and now know it applies to Korea. Some of the way things are is good and I wish the Western world worked more that way at times.

I guess that makes sense to celebrate some after the marriage too, but I presume it goes from the date of marriage, rather than from the old anniversary. So from above you mentioned the 100, and 300 (even though that seems odd, why not wait another month and a half for the 1 year...), what other intervals and special commercial days korea have or other specific couple ones.
Here some times I expect 1 month, 6 month, and each years anniversary up til marriage, then from marriage, just yearly from the new date.. Then commercial valentiens days, your significant others birthday and christmas, maybe easter... and then the attempts for other random things through out the year or if there is a regular "date night" scheduelled into the calendar weekly, monthly ect...
