The other day I was in the mall, and a man approached me asking me something speaking in between spanish and portuguese. I soon noticed he was brasilian and since im studying portuguese I replied very fluently XDDD I was speaking as if I was brazilian xddd he did not notice -.- xdd

One time, I had the reverse situation.. as an Asian-American, I was in Japan studying abroad when I was approached by a European guy who asked me for directions in accented English at a train station. Without thinking, I of course explained everything to him in English and afterwards, he exclaimed, “Wow, your English is very good!” I thought that was pretty funny 🙂

Yeah, I get that with Japanese, all the basic words and sentences or the kendo concepts when we have Japanese Sensei visiting. I think it is that the Japanese guy, and in this case your husband took it for granted accidently, not even realising! It is interesting how our brains do that, esp when it is our native language, where as when is not, we have to think more…
