He wasn't a club boy either but well, I guess I'll just have to forget about him... I'll gather some friends and the Korean Cultural office will be our new spot :) I'm too shy for meeting someone I met online with language exchange. Thank you so much for answering me ! This made my day and even my weed (=^-ω-^=) Wish you aaall the best ! XOXO

As you said every guy is different, but we can try to make some guesses. Whether he was a long term resident or just on a working holiday or a student may play a part in his interactions. Many guys on shorter visas may just be looking for fun. If you are interested in having meaningful interactions with Korean guys I recommend finding other ways besides clubs. See if there is a Korean cultural office and what events they have, see if there are people advertising for language exchange or meet up groups like that. Even pubs are better than clubs - find somewhere where you can actually talk to people. Sophie and Han met in a pub. With World Cup very soon I think there will be many places Koreans will be watching the matches, so I think that is a much better way to meet Koreans and it won't be assumed you are a "club girl" :)

I hope I'm describing this correctly. On the program Running Man and on several Korean dramas, I saw people playing this sort of paper game. There were two folded square pieces of paper. One of the paper is laying on the ground and the other is being held by a player. The player then strikes down his paper to the ground and hits the other paper, causing one, two, or none to flip over. What is the point of this game and what is the game called? If this makes no sense at all, then just ignore my rambling. :)

Hey guys ! I have a tiny stupid question I thought i may ask ... I Know all Korean guys are not the same but, I met the cutest Korean a month ago in a club and screwed up a little by not answering his texts and now he won't answer anymore. I did that because I thought he would always see me as the club girl, which i'm not. Do you think it is justified for me to think that ? The problem is that in the other hand clubs are the only place where I can meet and talk to Koreans... Anyways I love everything about your blog and I follow and support you so keep making us dream :). Love, Bianca.

this is funny, since my half white/asian friend asked me 'how can i get asian guys?' and i told her about the fact that most asian men don't even think that women outside their ethnicity will not like them. she was quite surprised! and felt a bit bad for the self-blaming asian dudes :(

Hah, yeah you do have a really good point. Touche! But I didn't mean to sound to patronizing. I am Korean, so it was more of a criticism than blaming something.
Yeah, I live in the U.S. so I understand very well that the movies and magazine spreads, etc, have influenced a huge deal of the images of whites and Asians.
But I do think that the Korean media should not give into those silly stereotypes, especially when this is a country not built by Europeans, and have not lived through Eurocentric standards for 5 millennia. I think we as Koreans should just enjoy the Western media as what it is, instead of gentrifying our own to their standards. Just a thought!

Exactly right. So of course when a Korean guy is with a woman that the media has said is unattainable it is seen as something surprising and like achieving a fantasy, even though of course relationships are based on more than that.
