It’s funny considering we don’t eat that many waffles ourselves in Belgium. Beer and chocolate? Most definitely. Waffles? Not so much. In my experience many Koreans don’t know that much about Belgium, so any conversation starter is welcome, even waffles 🙂

I´am from the Czech Republic, but when I said name of my country, a lot of people thought, that I mean Czechoslovakia. And when I said, that we splitted into 2 countries… The were like: Why so suddenly? And I was like: Czech Republic exist since 1993. I was not even born in Czechoslovakia 😀
And one more, that made me laugh. One guy from the US asked me, where in the USA Czech Republic is…

I am from Romania and I often get the question if vampires really exist in Transylvania. I know people are expecting ‘no’ for an answer, but I like to play a bit with their mind and tell them detailed stories about how we hang garlic by the doors and how no one goes outside after 11pm. Some of them ask me: “so are you a vampire?”. I like to laugh and then suddenly put on a serious face and say ‘you didn’t see me at night’. The look on their faces.. priceless.

Of course not all fall for that.

I’ve been asked many times about xylitol chewing gums, do i eat that before going sleep?? No~ Even Korean add’s says that Fins eat chewing gum before they go sleep, we actually don’t. Other thing is about polar bears, but we don’t have those creatures in here either. Only in zoo’s. And of course there’s Angry birds, Nokia and Santa to mention about.
