I’ve scared a lot of members of my family…it was a thing when me and my cousins were growing up…my favorite is when me and my uncle Bobby scared my cousin Steven (i was 12, Bobby was 13 and Steven was 10). We were up late, it was a family party for something, so for some strange reason we decided it would be a great idea to watch children of the corn when it came on the tv at 2 in the morning, oh yeah good plan. Steven had one of those ‘my buddy’ dolls that looked just like chuckie from child’s play, and during the movie we kept telling him that it really was chuckie. Eventually he fell asleep (NEVER be the first one asleep) and we took the doll and stood it next to his bed so it was staring at his face (the bed was the perfect height for just the head to be seen) and started quietly calling his name. Steven…Steeeven! He opened his eyes, screamed & threw the doll out of his room. we were laughing SO hard. I dont think he found it as funny as we did. 😉

I have to admit that I do..! I love hiding behind the doors or occasionally poke people when they are distracted haha Maybe because I grown up with four older brothers so I had to learn how to move slowly and wait for a really long time in a closet or even in the bathroom to get my revenge. I’m like a cat. Even tough I like to scare people, after I laugh for a while I apologize and give them a hug so they forget about it and don’t get that revenge feeling.

My story isn’t much of a jumping-out-and-scaring-people-thing, but something similar. I have this phobia with balloons (apparently its called globophobia) where I avoid balloons like the plague because of reasons I can’t even explain – but mostly for the sudden and unexpected poppings. I am just terrified of them! It sounds silly, but seriously, the fear is similar to that of being scared of ghosts. My husband, knowing this, sets up “balloon barriers” to the things that I need (like my shoe cabinet, or my bookshelves, etc) in an attempt to help me overcome my irrational fear of balloons. What doesn’t help is that he shouts “BOOOOOOOOMMM” very, very, loudly every time I try to approach the balloons.

He’s charming, really.

When we went to draculas on the gold coast, and you go as a vip, they give you a glass of bubbly, then send us on the haunted train downstairs to the auditaurum and our seats, the train ride is smooth and nice with silly scary things, towards the end though, there is this guy who reaches out and scares you, they record each visitor as they do this and play the vid during the show, the issue is they give you a full glass of bubbly first, and unless you finish it, when they scare you, if you jump,, you end up covered in wine. I had drunk half of my drink, and dont scare easy, but Elizabeth gets frights easily, and drinks slow, so she ended up spilling half her bubbly on her new dress and some on me.

We didn’t bother to make a complaint on this occasion – she doesnt like to, and doesnt really like it when I do, and since this was for our anniversary, we just let it slide on this occasion… but in made me a bit mad at the time…

I like to give her little frights like this some times at home though, it is funny, but she hates it, so i try not to, as would just make her grumpy.

I accidentally scared my little sister once. It dark at night and the lights weren’t on. I knocked on the door waiting for her to open her room. I wearing a white long night dress and I have long hair so it scared her so bad she thought was a ghost . loudest scream ever
