Are Korean Christians significantly different from those who are non-Christian?

For example, in Hong Kong, Chinese Christians tend to be more educated, speak better English and appear to not bother about their Confucian roots as much as those who do not associate themselves with the Christian faith.

Makes sense, that's what I figured. I guess I find it weird to just show up at a Church too, my family is Jewish anyway, but showing up at a synagogue we didn't belong to would be weird to me too. I guess that's just me though, I know some folks out there do it.

Yeah why would anyone who is not a pre-existing member of a church go, was what he meant. Whereas in Australia you have people traveling and going to a church that is not their regular church. You also have people who identify as Christian but don't go to church regularly but always go at Christmas.

However, there's even non-Christians who are simply going because their family is going together, or non-Christians who enjoy the spiritual aspect and the sense of tradition at Christmas.

Here in Spain, going to church on Christmas is not a tradition. We stay with our family and eat delicious food (seashell) and sweets (turrón, polvorones...) Even though Spain is historically Catholic, atheism is growing, so religious symbolism like nativity scenes are slowly disappearing and every year Christmas Day is becoming more a family holiday with typical Christmas decorations.

Aww.. that makes me a little sad. Jesus is the reason for the season. In my family we put more focus in the birth of Christ than Santa and gift giving.
We take the kids to elderly homes to sing carols and pass out hot coacoa and candy. We make a birthday cake for Jesus and read the story of the birth if Christ to the kids before they open presents. Then we ask them what Christmas means to them... they always say "Presents!" Haha..

I am a single parent so Christmas would be so depressing if it was a couple's holiday here.

Thank you for sharing Korea with me and my kids. Someday we will make it out there to experience Korea ourselves :)
