I am half-Mexican half-German, but my german side of the family decided to turn their backs on my father when they heard that he had married a Mexican woman, so I pretty much grew up as a Mexican. So our Christmas for us is actually a pretty big deal, where everyone and their significant others are invited. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, childhood friends, 3rd and 4th cousins, etc. So instead of having one main dish, the turkey, and side dishes, mash potatoes, all the women get together in the kitchen to bark orders at each other and gossip, while the men drink and take care of the kids, and make massive amount of food. There is always a stack of meat for whom ever wants meat, a variety of tamales for the holiday season, tons of tortillas, tomatoed rice and beans, and huge pots of hot chocolate and calientitos, and of course a colorful variety of liquor and alcohol. But I like to believe my family is a little different because of my dad being part of the family, my grandmother has learned to make a mexican version of several easy german dishes, mostly involving potatoes, and my dad would make the ham, which is considered a 'main dish', german bread, and bratwurst (of course!) and a limited amount of european beer. This is all celebrated on Christmas eve because we consider Christmas more of a breakfast holiday, because you can go and have dinner with your family whenever but because of work and such we see breakfast on Christmas more meaningful, as well all sit and watch the kids open Santa's presents and we eat and eat and eat! And the family won't leave till the 2nd of January, so we eat party and sleep to do it all over again the net day, jaja!!

I usually spend Christmas at my parents with family. Every year I try and convince my mum that Santa needs to give us presents, it worked up until I was 19, but Santa doesn't seem to keen on present giving anymore :(
We always go to Church in the morn then come home to prepare a massive feast for Christmas lunch. Because it's summer and Queensland its usually cold meats and salads, and lots of wine. We open all our presents together and generally eat a lot.

My husbands family have always done family Christmas on Boxing day, which has worked out well. Except last year we drove to the Gold coast through 2 and half hours of stop start traffic!

This will be the first year my husbands working Christmas day, so we've had to change our plans round a bit. He's a chef but fortunately is only working over lunch time, so we are having Christmas breakfast and dinner with friends in Brisbane...

We used to do the same, open one Christmas Eve (usually a board game to keep us entertained) then the rest Christmas morn, after we had gone to a ridiculously early church service.

Oh duh haha, that does make sense. I tend to forget that since just every single culture has one. What is Korean new year like?

Me too. Her dad and brother were gonna invite me to see Skyfall with them the other day, but in the end they went that same night they were discussing it as they were free, so didnt get to ask me. But the fact is they wanted to invite me. So will have to organise something like gokarting with them or something sometime.
