I feel like they can really relate a lot about the culture. And idioms are usually the most difficult to grasp for language learners. I remember I asked my boyfriend is there was anything similar to ‘taking a walk in someone else’s shoes’ in Vietnamese. He though about it and said that it would just confuse them, because it would just sound like you were stealing someone’s shoes, rather than trying to understand someone else’s point of view. ^^ Keke.

Another similar expression that I don’t think is used as often anymore is – when someone is telling you all these great things that they did, or something like that, you respond really sarcastically with “That’s great… do you want a cookie?” Hahah, totally rude. Like you’re wondering if they’re bragging to you in order to earn some kind of reward, but in the most obnoxious way you could ask. =P
