Ugh, in the past.... before the Kpop Hallyu era, they never kissed on TV, and that was not allowed, or it would have been considered indecent. Korean culture has progressed significantly since Hallyu started...

There still are a truck load of Korean men who would not appreciate his wife/GF/actress who kisses with another man even though this is just acting. Culturally, in that same light, as a fan who admires whomever the particular actress would not approve of her kissing another man, although she is not his wife/gf.

If you can follow this train of thought, you would probably understand why there is no all out kiss scene... *perhaps*

So, if you ever watched Korean history based dramas even today, there is zero kiss scenes - none. This is because the audience is much more conservative and they will probably disapprove of the actor/actress and the TV station if a woman was progressive enough to kiss another man that was not her husband.

DEFINITELY!! My biggest frustration was with the "Full House" drama. I was watching the whole episodes on marathon for 3 days and in the end when they finally kissed.... I just wanted to scream. Technically they were just putting their lips together. No emotion whatsoever. There goes my 72 hours TT__TT

In reply to <a href="https://www.mykoreanhusband.com/comic-on-dramafever/#comment-12919">Asma</a>.

Actually it's more to do with conservative Korean culture and how conservative and strict the big tv networks are. Which is why many Korean movies show lots of sex and stuff because they don't have as many restrictions. The conservative nature of Korean society means that on variety shows even if someone is not shy about kissing, it's expected that they act shy.

I've just seen your comic and it can't be more accurate, i can count dramas with real kisses. Open eyes kisses are just the most akward ones ! The best kisses delivered in a drama for me were those in Queen In Hyun's man
