Dont know much about any of the others. My grandparents (and mum) moved to Australia in 1974 from Malaysia and it was something I grew up with. Was often used when I had a stomach ache as a child. But we dont seem to have any any more. The ones we had, my grand mother sister actually made.

Korean chicken soup. My mother or grandmother will take a whole chicken, trim it, and boil it in water with onions and green onions for HOURS... It's served like ox bone soup. Salt and red pepper to taste, chopped up green onions, and a nice helping of white rice. The point is to eat it when it's hot so that you'll start sweating. Our family have done it for years. I think the chicken broth is easier on the stomach and I think it takes a shorter time to make compared to ox bone soup.

This is what i got from my grandmother "That brought a smile on my face. It is called minyak angin minyak in Malay means "oil", angin means "wind". It is an all purpose oil - used for cuts and bruises, rubbing and for stomach ache which the Malays and Thais believe is caused by too much wind in the abdominal area."
