In reply to <a href="https://www.mykoreanhusband.com/dating-differences-korea-and-australia/#comment-12171">thatsheagirl</a>.

Thank you for the insight :D I don't ever really show cleavage at all (my boobs aren't particularly big, haha, but sometimes the top of my bra might be visible) so do you think having like a tanktop (no cleavage showing) but with something covering shoulders (I do this a lot of the time already because I used to be uncomfortable showing so much skin) would be normal or fine?

Good to know on the flipflops too. I seriously do not have real shoes so the few days it's cold here, my toes are freezing. I actually have shoes meant for really really cold weather but it never gets cold enough here to justify wearing them and they aren't the most comfortable to walk in.

I usually wear sizes 8.5-9 but the 9s usually slip up so I prefer 8.5. And my shoe width is thin/normal rather than wide (which is another reason they sometimes slip up, because they're too wide). But it's a little confusing because I know Korean shoe sizes go by mm and I just measured my feet to the best of my ability (put foot on paper, measured heel to big toe). They are about about 245mm which would be a 7.5 in America according to this chart I'm looking at and there's no way I'd fit into a 7.5 here, maybe an 8 if I'm lucky, so I don't know haha. I'll make sure I bring shoes with me just in case :P

(I did some more measuring, my size 9 shoes are exactly 260mm in the part where I'm supposed to place my foot, but if I put my foot as far up as it is supposed to go, I have about 20mm worth of room in the back, hmm... I think I should try on more size 8's next time I go shopping because my size 9s don't fit me right)

I'm actually from Florida and I'm currently living in Seoul. For women, it is important to cover up the shoulders and hide cleavage while walking in public. Men can wear anything they want without any disdainful look from ajummas or ajusshis.

Koreans wear flip flops all the time. I actually saw a girl wearing flip flops yesterday (in 40 degree weather, no less) so there's that.
If you tend to have larger feet, bring shoes with you. You cannot always find shoes to fit you in the shops, and if you do, they can be rather expensive. ^^

I am hoping to get accepted to KAIST for graduate school next year and 1 of the things I worry about is the dress code like Nic was talking about, haha. I live in Florida so it's really hot here but I don't like showing my legs so I normally wear capris with a tanktop. Maybe I could find something to wear over it so that I don't look odd or like I'm showing too much skin? xD I'm wondering though, do Korean people wear flip flops or sandals frequently? Because again, I'm from Florida, and flip flops are part of the majority of Florida's wardrobe xD I will probably pick up some normal shoes that fit properly before going, but still.

I am jealous of their non-smelliness too Nic!!! :( However... even though my bf doesn't have BO, he sweats a lot and often smells like garlic/soju/whatever he has been eating because it comes through his skin strongly. At least i don't get that. :P
