Hahahaha, I can so totally relate to this!
I constantly do the same between English, Russian, Chinese Cantonese and Mandarin. Surprisingly, my husband and I both get nearly all of these special puns! 😀 Well, I have to do a bit of an explanation about Russian, but then he remembers it and knows what I mean each time I say it 🙂

It’s really hard when I go back to the states because I’m so used to speaking a hybrid of English and Japanese – that I keep accidentally using Japanese words (that don’t really have an english equivalent) in conversation. It’s awkward!

This is so true! For me though in school I am taking French and Italian in addition to studying Korean outside of school. For me my Italian teacher won’t speak to me in English when she doesn’t speak Italian, instead if what she wants to say is at too high of an Italian level she will speak in French to me. This can get very confusing because at that point I go through the process of whether I should respond in Italian or French! It improves my ability to switch from one another though. Then since Korean in the mix whenever I want to say no in any of the languages (French, English, Italian Korean) the first that comes into my mind is 아니요 and sometimes it comes out and no one knows what just happened. Sometimes embarrassing but also fun i guess haha.

I just learned about MyKoreanHusband not to long ago and I haven’t been able to stop reading your blog posts, watch your videos, enjoy the comics! You guys totally deserve more viewers. ^_^

This doesn’t happen to me really but sometimes when I’m studying Korean for a few hours and all of a sudden someone starts talking to me in English, initially I’ll think my response in Korean until I remind myself to switch to English mode because they won’t understand me. I can definitely see where this sort of thing could happen 😛

In reply to Lenni. Ditto, my bibimmal includes French, Spanish, Japanese and Korean, depending on who I'm with....hehe. In Miami, where I'm from, we speak a LOT of Spanglish, so its a habit to mash!
