Thank you for sharing Nic and Mr.Gwon about your insecurities. Even though women are judged significantly for appearance, men have just as many subtle judgements that lead to insecurities about appearance and feel like they cannot share their pain. A personal story, it took my older brother losing 200 pounds to finally open about the pain and judgments he experienced being overweight, and how he lived much of his life hating himself….we knew he wasn’t happy but did not know the extent he was depressed and how he felt he could not open up about his displeasure with his appearance. I think it is commendable for Mr. Gwon to discuss these thoughts.

Now I’ll get mushy and perhaps cliche, I wish we could live in a world where everyone was considered beautiful, in every way.

Mr Kwon is unique. He is handsome in a natural way. The same goes for you. In Korea, beauty is regarded as dolly beauty, so for me,is fake. My mum always says that Mr Kwon is as famous as other idols. 😀

It’s one of those “grass is always greener on the other side” things. We had a Korean foreign exchange student this past year. She told me that South Koreans think straight noses, small faces, and pointy chins are beautiful. But North Koreans think the exact opposite. If you put a Korean guy in the U.S., the more classically “Asian” he looks, the more attractive he is considered. But the same guy, in Korea, would be expected to look more European in order to be considered good looking. It’s because that “foreign” look is appealing no matter where you live. What ever you are surrounded by becomes boring, ho hum.

If he doubts his looks, there’s a simple solution. Just point to yourself and say, “Would a girl this hot marry an ugly guy?” Case closed. XD

I call those ‘bad face days’ Much like a bad hair day, it’s just one of those days where you see yourself in the mirror and just can’t seem to look good. I get them every once in a while. Annoyingly, I often seem to be having a bad face day on days when I’ve planned to go shopping (trying on outfit after outfit and feeling ugly in all of them >_>) =P

Remember, it was the ugly duckling that turned into a swan….
and i’m sure you will have to buy him a set of bird wing props and a wand very soon considering both of you have also tried on make up to ‘beautify’ yourselves recently. ^^
