my husband hates paying for peaches. We live in a state that has the most peach farmers in the country so there are always friends or relatives that give us free fruits. but when they dont and i want to eat it I buy them and my husband yells at me for it 😛

I can’t stand paying for market tomatoes, cucumber or green beans…then again, when I’m not at home to get them in the summer I’m usually at college, and I don’t even like the taste of store bought veggies because they’re out of season by then and just taste gross =.= potatoes and cucumbers I can handle to a degree, and great beans can be saved with a little salt, but there’s no turning back with an off season tomato.

I used to dislike kimchi until my friend took me to a place that served real, homemade kimchi and I was like OHMYGOSH, ALL OF IT IN MY MOUTH NOW. So, I definitely appreciate homemade kimchi, no store-bought for me. But alas, I have no mother-in-law to make it for me. 😀

Hmm, i think i hate paying for stuff like potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, because relatives grow them in the country side and we sometimes get these for free :/
Of course tomatoes and cucumbers are cheaper when they’re in season, although the former seem more expensive regardless.
Oh, the same goes for bell peppers. 😀

Hee hee, I wonder what Mr Gwon would say if he came and shopped in the Korean stores here in London for Kimchi!! It is surprisingly expensive in comparison with the same products there. For example Soju (this is if you comparing won for won and pound for pound!)

Yessss. Me too! My mother in law (to be) also makes kimchi amd gives it to me. So I’m a bit rebellious in buying the stuff at the store for both reasons being the price and the quality. Her kimchi so far seems to be far better tasting than other kimchi I’ve had here. (I swear I’m not biased!) I been asking her to teach me for nearly a year now. I’d love to continue the tradition in my own household as well.
