My mother had an interesting observation once that Koreans do things to their shoes that we were scolded for when we were children. For example, not undoing laces when putting shoes on, pushing the backs down on shoes, scuffing shoes along the ground to put them on… we were taught not to do that! But Koreans do that stuff to get shoes on more quickly. But we’ve had it trained out of us… no wonder it’s hard for us haha.

I feel that the art of getting shoes on and off is taught at school in Korea. Whenever I go to restaurants in Korea where you need to take your shoes off. I watch as my friends slip them on and off in two seconds and it always takes me ages even if they are not lace up shoes! One of these days I will master the art !

My best friend’s mom, gets on me everytime I step inside and fail to remove my shoes. So, when I forget to bring something inside I just go barefooted. She hates that too… lol

Me tooo!!! I’m better at the shoes thing than before, but still not as fast. We also had the same rule in my home in the usa. Which we also ignored if we had to run in quickly. I live in my own place here, but damn I actually feel guilty if i touch my shoe to that floor. T.T

Hahaha I did the same in my homestay house !!! I took advantage that she was out and I was really late for school so I run really fast to pick up my t money card that I forgot !! After this I started to walk with tomms or havaianas because it was easier to take it off !!!
