Not bad. While I haven’t seen Breakfast on Pluto, it sounds like a hoot!
What do you think of my outline? I’m dying for feedback.

Future Llama would be the son of the head of Universal Spacesuit Insulation, Ltd., but not interested in inheriting the company. He’s a philanthropic rebel, offering his genetically-engineered wool to poor, underprivileged people who can’t afford USI’s prices. Every episode would feature at least one scene where Future Llama is shaved completely bald.

His companions:
Rambutt: A tough, no-nonsense bighorn ram who’s openly gay but acts like a saner version of the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket. His face never deviates from a stern, serious poker face.

Dhali: A cloned sheep who thinks she’s a llama. Sweet, innocent, but with a special genius for numbers. Keeps the cut-off Future Llama from going broke with various cottage industry ventures. Nobody thinks her business ideas will ever work, but they always do. Catchphrase: Nya, nya-nya, nya, nyaaaa!

Stoner: A pet rock. Never says anything, but moves on his own and changes expression when others aren’t looking. Occasionally writes messages in sand. Loves to save the crew by hurling himself at the back of villains’ heads. Notorious for eating mineral samples and gaining weight. Only Dhali knows he’s quantum-locked. They have conversations while Dhali faces away, only occasionally looking at Stoner to check his expression.

What do you all think? Nic, I’m especially interested in your opinion.

So I know you’re busy, but just a gentle reminder that we are waiting for the debut of future llama 😉

I think full characterisation and plot development should happen over a large pot of coffee and several bottles of wine. My initial thoughts are that Future Llama needs to be sassy and suave with a penchant for the 1960s and flower power and Olivia Newton John (matching the 80s do above–aerobics Llama??). My current train of thought has him (or her??) infiltrating terrorist organisations and bringing them down–here I am thinking a reference to Kitten’s dream confession in Breakfast on Pluto (if you’ve not watched the film, you must), where she infiltrates the IRA and incapacitates them all with a bottle of Channel No.5.

All of this is done on no wine and only one coffee… can you imagine the brilliance that could spew forth with creative lubricants? I also like the idea of Future Llama being able to time travel, but that is largely because I want to see what a Llama would look like in 1920s fashion like Miss Fisher.
