I was watching knowing bros with exo as the guest and one of the members were talking about taking a shower with the rest of the members to get closer with them. I knew korean men we more affectionate and comfortable with each other than westerners but I got a MAJOR culture shock. He even said with one of the members they bite each others butts in the shower and i was so confused. Haha

nothing wrong with guys showering together or even washing each other for that matter, doesn’t make you gay or bisexual, they are just labels anyway

Ha ha ha…I can relate to this story…I’m a Filipino who now lives here in Korea. Philippines though Asian have a bit more westernized when it comes to definition of musculinity and so I’m a little surprised when I first arrived here 5 years ago. One time, my Korean friend (male) asked me to a jjimjjilbang (찜찔방= korean sauna or bath house) and somehow got culture shocked when he started rubbing my back and then afterwards hand me the towel asking me to do the same to his back.

In reply to dewaanifordrama. Yeah not only is people's judgment blurred by their own cultural assumptions but they don't even realise Korean guys have all done at least 2 years of military service. That is hardly 'girly'.
