Well, I’m definitely not fluent in Korean, so maybe someone else can chime in, but as far as I know, “gwiyomi” is just a word that means cutie, while aegyo usually refers to a whole set of cute and childlike mannerisms. Gwiyomi (the English translation is “cutie player”) is just another way to express aegyo.

You can also think of it in the same way that all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares: all gwiyomi is aegyo, but aegyo is not all gwiyomi. There’s also plenty of buing buings, puffed cheeks, and oppas~! to go around.

What is the difference between Ageyo and gwiyomi? I’m a little lost.

Currently my net is playing up and the youtube vids are quite laggy… trying to watch each of them to understand more.

I’m not very good at it, I really don’t know the words at all haha.
