I have to always spell my full name as well, I usually give up and give them my id (if in person)

In reply to Jessica R Stebbing. I changed my name in Australia. On my foreign card in Korea and passport my name is Gwon. But on our health care in Korea it still comes up as my maiden name because we have to change a few more documents to do that, which we haven't bothered with.

here usually the wife takes on the husband’s family name, and the children the same. but if the partners want to keep their names, it becomes the new family name given to the kids as well. this happened to my friend and she always has to explain which name is given, and which is family name. she hates it, and i cant blame her, lol.

My name is Andréanne. It’s normal for anyone living in the french part of canada but for anyone else, it’s really weird, but at least I have the most common way of writing it (there are like 1000000 ways). and my last name, Tremblay, is the most common last name here. so I’m sort of lucky here but as soon as I travel it gets very complicated -.-

My western first name is Vivian but in Germany people found many different ways to spell it, such as Vivien, Viviane, Vivianne, and so on….
Most of the time they write Vivien…
My teachers always make sure to spell my last name right, but then they often forget to write my western first name right 🙁
(I have a Vietnamese last name and in my school there are very less people with a foreign background, thus it’s always hard for them to spell foreign names)
Now I got used to spell my first name normally and my last name with the phonetic alphabet (I’m not even trying to make the effort spelling my Vietnamese first name as well 😉 )

My name is so long it’s MARIA CONCEPCION ESCANDOR LEONCITO.. but sometimes i just use Ma. instead of Maria ;).. and i have to spell my middle and surname 😉
