Wow, after read this post although it’s 4 months late… it’s once again open my eyes. what you said on this post is true, i also happen to have k-ikonic friend and she said that ikon is popular in SK, like they had 18 melon roof hits for my type and that’s an achievement not just hype like any other haters said also apology had like 2 melon roof hits. a known youtubers who like to react to kpop song (they also from SK and both of them are boys) also said that iKON is pretty darn famous in SK, and if we see iKON’s related naver article, they always got thousands upvotes even before they debuted and what awe me is that they also become like top 3 in naver search engine in almost every show they went(like sbs gayo daejun when there’s a lot of big artist but iKON is trending in top 3 for a quite long time). yes thats way iKON have a lot of haters because haters know that iKON will threaten their faves, even many idol feel that way tbh. you can check it on iKON’s lyrics like in Dumb&Dumber. But we are iKONIC just have to support them. That’s our priority, ignore haters, they’re just trying to shade iKON. and SORRY for my loong comment. THANKYOU noona..

Thank you so much! I so needed to read these, all these assurance you wrote in your blog. I’m just a newbie ikonic but im also a long time VIP, and i was wondering why ikon is getting a lot of hate in the internet. Thank u!!! Ikon is amazing and i think its nasty that they keep on comparing ikon with winner, they have different styles, i mean they are both from yg family, we should just love them all! Thank u! Seriously, thank u! Btw im also a fan of hanson back in 6th grade haha!

Hi..fellow vip here….i follow bigbang from the beginning and see how much hate they get whenever new album is release but i know they are still gonna suceed. I get to know team b because bigbang appearance in the show and fell in love with them.After My Type came out and seeing so many negative comment again i`m like please just leave the boys alone.even if they read the negative comment i hope it will make them stronger just like BB..stay strong ikonics..remember that when bb debut they cried reading all the hate comments but look at them now they are at the top

Plenty of adults are into groups too, especially YG ones. I find that when Koreans ask me if I like any Kpop and I say bigbang they are really accepting of that because “bigbang is cool”. So maybe I’d be more embarrassed if I liked these smaller groups more aimed at teens but I feel comfortable in my choices. I’ve always been way more into groups that write their own music, which is what ikon and bigbang do, so it means they are artists as well as just idols. For example even tonight ikon came up in conversation with adults in their 30’s and no one is like “omg an idol group!” it was more like “yeah i saw they had an impressive debut”.

I think people in their 20’s for example feel embarrassed to like Kpop because they are desperately trying to be an adult but past that a lot of people get over it and just like what they want to. When I first met Hugh he wasn’t into any Kpop, but as we’ve got older we got more into it.

do you ever have people asking why you’re into idol groups? I’m living in Seoul now, but as a working adult I feel embarrassed if I launch into fangirl mode about any idol groups. My bf told me that high schoolers and students are into that…
also I am eagerly awaiting post about how to get concert tickets, since I am definitely going to some concerts while I live here.

That was so much fun to watch! So much fun! I really hate those ticket scalpers so much! Argh! I wish there were a better way to put a stop to them. It just seems so unfair that they do that.
