We’re not sure if this was a good thing, but dh maintained his working knowledge of korean over the years by being yelled at by his korean dad. We’re certain that there must have been an easier way.

I use italki.com to practice written Korean. I am a heritage learner whose Korean has gotten terribly rusty. I write summaries of K-pop music videos and K-dramas, but I also write samples conversation scripts. I work in a retina clinic and I often have to use both Korean and English on the job. I understand how you feel. It’s the same with me, after intense socializing I feel really tired. My brain just wants to ignore the world because nothing makes sense for a while. And I don’t know how to explain this to other people. Since I started doing Yoga I think I have more endurance, though.

Your Korean must be good if you can understand the big stories your teacher tells you. Hopefully you got over the brainfreeze. You are so lucky to have native speakers around you. I have such a hard time with subject and topic markers. Can’t understand why, when and where to use them.

I’m in an intensive Chinese program at the moment which means I have Chinese class five days a week for 3 hours. Once I’m done, my mind races with Chinese words and phrases for a good half hour. I feel your pain on this.

same lah, whenever i write something in english..is definetly ok. but when it comes to speak..my mind blank. hahahahaha and the introvert things tho T___T also same. talking for hours is fine but after that i have to “rest”. lol and u know what?since im not english native speaker, the craziest thing ive ever done in my life was learning korean while learning english. its challenging yet fun XD

Same here. I wind up garbling English, Spanish and Korean for a few hours after.
