Mr Gwon is understanding and accepting of gay people but most Koreans tend to be conservative until their beliefs are challenged. Unfortunately churches in Korea are very critical of gay people and society being conservative in general means that Koreans are usually only hearing very negative things about homosexuality. When a Korean person meets gay people or travels to another country they often end up changing their mind.
