Thanks for sharing the tour of the greenhouses! Now I am really jealous of Mr.Gwon family's greenhouse....I wish a could show you both a picture of one of our makeshift greenhouses we made for my friends flower farm...its so pathetic in comparison you both might get a good laugh at our attempt. At least we had the right pots for propagation! :) Actually many hobby farms are similar to the size Mr.Gwon has just an hour north or south of San Francisco...even some hobby vineyards are about that size. Now, I need to go make me a plate of strawberries....(scurries to kitchen).

I'm from Cali and I have lived near probably where those strawberries are produced, in Watsonville (famous for their corporate strawberry and other berry farms) just south of San Francisco by two hours. When you pick the strawberries at farms in Watsonville or purchase them at a produce stand they are super sweet. I think the ones that are shipped are more bland because they don't send them ripe and are picked prematurely to survive the travel and are ripened instead while in storage...but thats just my guess.

haha, I can relate to the thongs usage. One day my aunt was packing to go on vacation and she was frantically looking for something. So we asked her and she said she was looking for her thongs, "I really need my thongs, they are my favorite" Her daughters and I just looked at her and said WHAT, TMI auntie, gross. She looked at us and said she was looking for her sandals. We about died laughing. We eventually stopped laughing and told her not to use that word anymore.

Fair enough reason. I thought you had probably thought about it and had a good reason, so is nice to hear it :)

Same here in Victoria. I hated strawberries throughout my childhood because the ones my parents always bought were so sour and usually looked....odd. They looked shriveled and weird compared to pictures of strawberries I'd seen in ads and stuff. So when I first had Korean strawberries, I was like "YESSS! THIS IS WHAT I ALWAYS IMAGINED STRAWBERRIES TO BE LIKE! JUICY AND SWEET!" :D

California does grow their own strawberries too. Maybe it depends on the shipping conditions to Australia. Strawberries don't stay ripe forever so I guess that's why they taste bland? Anyways, those berries looked so good! I might have my mom buy some more strawberries if they still in season.
