Hello … Can u explain or make and exaple of being grumpy – boss by a famous Kdrama? I think a lot but I can not understand which way in korean drama? I am from Iran I wa tch alot of them and I fall in love with Korea culture I want to know more and more would u explain? more?

I think its kind of 허세 for korean guy which almost every korean guy has. I can’t translate that into English cause I think It’s something really only koreans have haha

In reply to Elissa. I concur that some korean dramas portray women as "passive." However you cant label all asian dramas where women are portrayed as passive. i have seen hong kong tvb,china tv series which this is not the case.I cannot comment on japanese and Taiwanese series though because i have not seen very many.

Oh, I did not mean to come across that I believe all East Asian women are submissive, I certainly do not believe that. I know and have met quite a few East Asian ladies that are strong minded and definitely do speak their minds.
I think I did not phrase my original comment well. Hm, to some degree East Asian people are more passive compared to people from the US (which is where I’m from), but still I do indeed know that it does not mean that Asian women do not stand up for themselves. Does that make sense? I hope so.
Anyhoodles, as well I was trying to convey that it is a shame that so many dramas do portray Asian women as being submissive and weak, when they are often not like that.

In reply to Elissa. I disagree.I have met a lot of east asian women including chinese hong kong korean taiwan etc who are assertive and stand up for themselves.There is a common misconception among foreigners that asian women are submissive and obey their husbands which of course is not true.
