If you are looking for an officetel (think small studio apartment) then you will need to have key money (depending on the place this could be anywhere from 2-5 million won, or about 2-5 grand USD). The key money is only a deposit and you will get it back minus any damages to the place.
The Gositel is probably your best bet.
At first, you can opt to stay in a love motel which are fairly cheap, but be aware that they are called love motels for a reason. If that creeps you out, you might want to check into an actual hotel.

Yeah he has PR. While it’s hard to find good jobs in Korea, having Australian PR wouldn’t affect it at all. Like even with Australian PR, my husband is still a Korean citizen. My husband is hoping to do something similar to what he does in Australia- sorry can’t say where he works because it would be really obvious and giving away his work place. So that’s our plan at the moment. The pay will be less in Korea, but the cost of living is also lower as well. I’m working towards earning money from blogging, so actually being in Korea will help my blogs and I wouldn’t have to change what I do. If that doesn’t work out I’d be thinking about being a private tutor.

Im guessing your husband is a citizen or a PR of Australia.. does he have plans of what to do back in Korea for work? My boyfriend is a PR of Aus and I would love to live in Korea to a while but he doesn’t think he could get a good job in Korea being a PR of Aus which I’m sure is false. Any tips on jobs considering what you guys might be planning to do?

At the moment we are planning to move there next year for a few years. That’s the plan but it could always change. We want to spend some time in Korea before settling down in Australia.
