When I was little we used to trick people into looking at something and say “Made you look!” except I was the youngest in the family and I though everyone was saying “Major look!”……..It still kind of made sense to me so it took me a long time to realize I was saying it wrong!

That is really, really cute. When I was a little girl and Ace of Base were big, for the longest time I thought they were saying that they saw the sun, not the sign. It was only when I bought the cd and saw the title of the album that I realised I had been wrong for ages. I can’t think of any second language errors though. I tend to be more likely to make them than hear something wrong I think. For instance, one of the words for male genitals in Portuguese is very close to the word for bread, but the word for bread is the one that is harder to say and there is a Brazilian cheese bread (pão de queijo) I really like. I suspect I ordered it hilariously wrong on many occasions till I got the nasal vowels down.

Mine isn’t so much of a mis-hearing as it was not understanding.
You know the joke, “Why was Six afraid of Seven”? Well, it literally took me until like 2 yrs ago to understand that it was “Seven ATE Nine” and not that Seven had a possey of larger numbers backing him up. I spent my entire childhood with a lie!

i usually hear wrong things in songs.. sometimes i could have sworn they said/sang something else.. but when i checked up the lyrics and i goo.. “aaaaa ok. now THAT makes sense” lol
