I think there are a lot of similarities as well. A lot harder in many ways because it's long term. But working holiday people know they can just go home if things get too tough.

First time commenting. I really appreciate hearing Mr. Gwon's perspective. My husband grew up in Korea and immigrated to the U.S. at age 18 (international age), along with his mother and sisters. Some family was already here in the United States, but still very difficult experiences and struggles. Heart-rending some of them. Different experience than working holiday, I'm sure, but also similarities. Thanks for including subtitles so people like me can know what's being said. (I only speak/read/write English- I relate to Nicola's language learning struggles). Actually Mr. Gwon videos are some of my favorites of yours- please keep making!

okay, now that I've got the subs I can catch up on your story.... :-) Hugh, you had a really hard time back then :( When I listen to you speaking about how little you were paid for working so long and about the accident and your "friend's" behaviour, I am really sorry :/ It's such a pity you got to know Nichola much later.. things would have definitely gone better if you had had some help... but apparently it was meant to be like that.. you had to go through all this hardship to be rewarded with a better life and a lovely wife now :-) I'm happy to see how your life has changed since then... Look how far you have come... :) From an underpaid farm worker to a youtube star ^^ (I don't know if you like the definition "star" but you have lots of fans and followers so I felt entitled to use this word ;) I'm curious what happened next... ^-^
