Yeah some men don't like how it's portrayed because it's not realistic. Hugh watched it happily knowing that it's all just fantasy, and a drama and not like real life at all. But Hugh is easy going and can brush that aside.

But I can understand annoyance at it. Personally I'm annoyed at bit at girls wanting to talk like soldiers because of it, when previously men were self conscious of sounding like a soldier and being laughed at. Just how easily people change their mind because of dramas...

I'm curious how men who've actually been to the Korean military view the portrayal of soldiers and the army in that drama. I read that some Korean men don't like how the drama glorifies and romantizises life as a soldier when the reality is nothing like that. Like how it would be absolutely impossible to get away with making your own decisions based on your personal opinions even against orders and getting away with it. Or that the sense of brotherhood, solidarity and honour is a fantasy and has nothing to do with real life. What does Hugh think about that? I've seen the video he did about going to the army but in comparison to the drama specifically I'd be interested to hear his opinion.
