I absolutely agree with you, Sophie. I think their relationship is based on true partnership which shows in the comics - sometimes it's Mr Gwon's habits to be mocked, and on other occasions it's Nichola herself to make fun of her own behaviour :) They can both be self-critical and self-ironic, which makes these comics so unpredictable ;-)

hahaha--I remember refusing to get hat hair despite how cold it may have been. My scarf did make it up to my eyes though, which was always a pain if I was wearing sunnies too, as it then meant my breath would instantly fog up the lens :P

In reply to <a href="https://www.mykoreanhusband.com/no-warm-hat/#comment-13142">Nic (MyKoreanHusband)</a>.

Actually, humour is a really great way to deal with our differences and learn to understand each other. It is precisely in response to the negativity that is found when you search "korean husband" that this comic has been started. There are heaps of people online who say horrible things about their experiences being married to Korean men that contribute to the stigma you describe, Nichola is not one of them. The spirit of these comics is not to ridicule Hugh, it is to show a lighthearted side to mixing two starkly different cultures and to a marriage without a fluent language in common. It is much better to laugh at our preconceptions and faux pas' then be critical. Nichola is also often the fool in her stories and likely will be moreso in the future as she is trying to settle into life in Korea.
If her comics offend you, it might have been better to say so from the outset than to make passive ahgressive comments until you are called out on it. Nichola has never claimed to speak about all korean men or all marriages, she is merely telling her own story with the full understanding, consent and blessings of her husband. I have met and know both of them well and can assure you they have a very loving marriage and a lot of patience for each other, and like myself and my husband, laugh off a lot of their differences which saves them from fighting.

Arhhh... I know this feeling!!! I personally hate wearing head wear of any kind - I also refused to wear a beanie in Korea during winter because "it will ruin my hair" or "wreck my 'look'." hahaha. I don't blame you at all to wear a headband rather than a beanie of some kind :)

In reply to <a href="https://www.mykoreanhusband.com/no-warm-hat/#comment-13141">Andrew Kim</a>.

Andrew I don't think you realise how offensive you come across on here. We give tiny glimpses into our lives through comics that by no means show the whole picture so you can't judge what our relationship is really like or make comments like that about my husband.

I have complete control over who can post on here and don't appreciate you telling my husband that he is slacking, even if you don't mean it seriously. This is your first warning.
