But a lot of men from 경상도 do not express their genuine inner feelings they have for their spouse with words… I did a brief internet search for “경상도 사나이” and my suspicion was right, I got so many hits for women blog post and say how their 경상도 husband is not very expressive with their words.

Korean women who don’t know 경상도 사나이 would stay away from them for being not very expressive, but the ones that do know them get attracted to their stereotypical character traits as in, being loyal to their family, projecting a tough guy image built into their dialect, etc.

When I was in the US Army while stationed in Korea, this woman dated me just because I spoke with 경상도 dialect…

My point being, perhaps Mr Gwon wanted to make a point… or he had no point ?
I would not be surprised if Mr Gwon says something authentic like a typical 경상도 사나이 would say, something like, “Although I look meek and mild, I wanted show you how tough I am, and that I am ready to take care of you here in Korea…”

Comment like this would not be unexpected… this is why there are a boat load of Korean women who want to get married to a 경상도 사나이. I asked my wife, what comes to your mind when you hear a man is from 경상도, she says, “a tough guy” Nuff said!!!
