Interesting. .
To read all those comments. ..
I'm 6 f and 1 inch tall female and I also wearing high heels . My highs and body weight is leveled for some and for others I'm huge and fat ...
What's funny people react on what they see and it's so so typical . I strongly believe that people stressing themselves for and of nothing. . Look little deeper inside.
Society judgements on been short or tall or fat it's just level of education and openness that's all ..
Good luck to everyone :)

my husband is just a few centimetres above me and, like you, if I wear high heels I'm taller (but I don't wear high heels, because it's a pain in the b***! :D) I like that his height is close to mine caus' I can cuddle and hug and kiss him without the need to go and get a ladder or climb up a chair :D I agree with what you said about being tall not being a main quality. It can be "practical" (to grab things high up on the shelves like you said^^), but I don't consider it a "quality". I would rather have a wonderful but small man (even smaller than me, I don't care) than a stupid tall guy.
I love my husband! he's just perfect! I don't want him to wear pad in his shoes! haha

But I think being tall, even as a girl in the western view is starting to be important too (I'm from France). Two weeks ago, I went to buy some shoes and I was very surprised as to how maaaaaany high heels there were! I don't go shopping often so I'm not aware of fashion that much, but it really surprised me! I saw shoes for men with quite a big heel too! Not like the girls but still very high... like snickers with hidden heels inside the shoes. Same for the girls : it looks like regular snickers from the outside but in the inside there's a 12or 13 cm heel!!!!!!!!!!! what the point in wearing snickers (which are supposed to be comfortable) if you put a 12cm heel inside?!! :D

I know the fashion and entertaining world determine the "ideal" human....but shouldn't we advertise good legitimate human beings qualities rather than just physical or monetary ones?! its sad for the children growing who will develop complex over silly and unimportant things.
Girls! (and guys too^^) you should look at something else than the outside look when searching for a partner! Because good looks will come to pass with time, but good inner human qualities will remain or even better themselves with time! :D Choose a wise nice and kind man/woman rather than a tall and muscular one!

There is a more recent video of ours (this is an old post) about how the younger generation, guys who are 18, 19, 20 now are much much taller. Wearing lifts is becoming less popular in Korea because it's simply not needed for the younger generation now.

Years ago it was true about how popular lifts in shoes were, but these days, for the new generation, they simply aren't widely used as much. And older generations like guys in their 30's don't care as much when they are settled down with kids.

Next time you go to Korea, look at the ankle bone on men. This is easy because wearing high water pants is in style. If you see the ankle bone really high off the ground its a sure sign that the man is wearing a lift.

Go to Korea and then go to the US, you will see a big average height difference between men. The difference? Foam lifts, haha. Every guy there wears it. It's basically the equivalent of eye surgery for men.

It's so ubiquitous that being 183 cm doesn't mean what it used to mean. Call it affirmative action for looks.

I know South Korea is known for their plastic surgery and I suppose other types of superficiality, but I think we in the United States are pretty concerned about height. My father is 5' 9" and has always felt that it's short. He says 5' 10" is the cut off for men. I am 5' 0" girl and I get a lot of unsolicited comments for being a shrimp or pats on the head. And in terms of short famous people, I've heard Tom Cruise criticized or made fun of for being "short" on various talk shows. I agree it's wrong, but I just don't think it's case specific. You would not see a boy band as short as Big Bang in the US go uncritcized either. It's like that Randy Newman song "Short People"
