Thanks for the information, Emily! I find this stuff fascinating. Probably because I'm a city girl and wish I could have my own vegetable garden!

Hi! I've been following for awhile, but I am not sure if I have ever commented before. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for making videos and sharing about life in the country. It's really easy to find blogs and videos about Seoul, K-dramas, and K-Pop, but I also like seeing what life is like outside of that. Since I'm from a rural part of the US, it's interesting to see what rural life is like in other places.
With regards to potatoes and pesticides, my experience from my home garden is that "Colorado Potato Beetle" is the biggest threat around here to the potatoes. In my small garden, hand picking them early in the year is very effective. Hand-picking is probably not easy for commercial growers, so they rely on pesticides. They are very resistant to most pesticides, so if you go that route, you have to use a lot. Maybe Korea doesn't have the same pests.

I'm not sure. I imagine due to land space in Korea they are grown in smaller areas and don't need pesticides but I guess large scale potato farming in the US uses them possibly because it's a much bigger operation.
