That is wonderful how you just knew he was the one, and thus why skeptical to date in that not sure you were ready to get married.
I also find it interesting how you say he perused you, rather than expressed interest in you. Almost sounds stalkery, but more that he really had to fight to win you over, and despite being knocked back lots of time he was persistant until you were his. hehe.
