I feel like I’m a bit dyslexic because my issues always come from writing an “ㄴ” when I want to write a “ㄱ” and things like that…I pretty much always can spell a word right if I’ve learned it before because when I’m memorizing words I write them over and over.

So I’m reading along and suddenly…a wild Integrated Korean 2 appears!!?! Hahaha! I recognize the dialogue, not because I’ve had to read it in class (although I have), but because we have to memorize and recite every conversation in the book out loud, in class, in front of everyone ㅠ.ㅠ

In reply to sohapilee. My Korean spelling can be quite terrible sometimes and I'm really lazy when writing and leave off parts of letters. Like in English it doesn't matter if we forget to dot an i or something right? But in Korean it makes it a whole different word!

Funny and cute, as the rest of your drawings.
I studied Korean by myself for a couple of years now…and that studying included reading some stuff off the internet and watching too many kdramas. 😀
Well, I can read Korean. But when I write, I always have issues with the spelling. 어,오, 으,우. They’re always not spelled/written the way I hear them.
Have you had issues like this too?
Oh. And confusion between 먹어 and 먹고. Stuff like that. Aaaaah~!!!!
Btw, it must be so AWESOME to have someone to practice it with. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Also, like how much should be corrected? It’s hard to find a balance sometimes. Of course I will have an Australian accent with my Korean but somethings I really need help with. Some people over correct every little thing and then some not enough.

Some women in my class who started a different course with a Korean teacher (unqualified teacher) discovered when they transferred to our course that they had been saying and writing things completely wrong! The previous teacher had said “It’s okay you are beginners, it doesn’t matter if you say it wrong”. But…as they discovered actually it did matter as my teacher (who is experienced and qualified) had to get them to relearn things.

But yeah sometimes my husband zones out and other times he can be quite pedantic (especially after I drew this cartoon of him haha). In the end it evens out.

I must admit, as an English teacher, it is so hard not to tune out to those, haha. Doing it for free has to be that much harder, even if you are in love.
