In reply to <a href="https://www.mykoreanhusband.com/rockpools-at-night/#comment-4679">Schuu</a>.

I agree with that. Some studies apparently talks about octopus having an intellect as good as human beings. the only difference is that females die after laying their eggs, so babies can't learn from them and so they need to learn from scratch once again at every generations. they can even learn to do really difficult things just by watching another octopus doing it on a screen once and then they will solve the same "problem" in one go...pretty impressive. i'm sure a lot of human kids can't do that^^

I don't eat a lot of meat and can go years without eating any and then eat some for a while.I kind of liek what this little kid is teaching his mother in this video actually; even so I'm not against people eating meat as long as animals are gently taken care of their whole life and respected...which isn't really the case anywhere on this planet for the moment... :

haha I can picture a nice day to the aquarium with you going like "hoooo! look this little fish is just so cute!!!" and him "hmmm it looks delicious....!" ^^ haha your eyes sparkling with the joy and wonder of seeing all those beautiful creatures and his mouth salivating with what, in his view point, is a lot of yummy food swimming around him !:D
I love catching things in the sea and in fact, when at the sea, I don't really like sleeping on the beach under the sun a lot. I Iike to have goggles and swim around to look at fishes and sea creatures. I can't catch something alive and see it as food. in fact, if some food still looks like the animal it's made from, I can't eat it. (it's already hard enough for me to not imagine the baby lamb or cute cows, pigs and chicken while eating. I actually need to make an effort not to think about it....and my husband enjoy reminding me from time to time.....lol^^ I couldn't be a farmer. raising my chicken or piggy and then eating it. I would give my little chickens a name and talk to them...I'm sure of it ^^ do you think your husband would like to raise octopuses and give them names they would answer to, so, when they're big enough to be eaten it would be easier to catch ?! :D

My husband does that with a lot of animals. Like, when we're watching TV, if there's any sort of animal misbehaving, be it a shark, goat, deer, ferret, dog, or what ever he's like "Eat it! mmmmm, barbeque." Most of the time he's just kidding....but sometimes I wonder ^^;

He loves raw octopus, too. I have a video somewhere of him poking a plate of wriggling tentacles, then making one of the suckers stick to his tongue *shiver* he did it to gross me out! Lol I like squid, but I just can't warm up to the idea of octopus...

In reply to <a href="https://www.mykoreanhusband.com/rockpools-at-night/#comment-4749">Beckie Kang</a>.

Australians do sometimes eat octopus but we are really careful about taking things from the environment. Actually there are strict laws here because of overfishing and too much being taken from coastlines. So that was one of the reasons why we told me husband no, because it might be illegal to take it :)

Well. We are treating Octopus as a food like fish. So we don't think too much about octopus when we try to eat whether it is living or dead. ^^ Maybe it can cause you some weard feeling but we have been eating octopus for a long time. (maybe more than 200 years) I know octopus is real smart than any other fish. But it didn't give any meaning for Koreans. It's just one of foods. Thanks a lot.
