In reply to Nic (MyKoreanHusband). Funny that it is so bad. I am from Germany and we have veeery good bread. We have like 3000 different kinds of bread and breadrolls. And when someone goes to another country for a long time, the first thing most people miss is bread. So it must be really horrible and I feel for you :(

Hi Nic!
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now.. I’m not korean but my boyfriend is, and he lives in jinju as well, so there’s a very real possibility of me moving over if we get married. Wow, love this video. Brings back all the memories of our trip earlier this year. I loved Seoul. The subways – aaah. I had a minor freak out the first time we used them! My ticket wouldn’t scan and I thought I was trapped on the wrong side of the little gate for some reason. Sounds silly now but at the time I think I was overwhelmed and didn’t want to sneak around because I didn’t know how strict they were there!! I bought another ticket so I could try again I was that scared (my family was all waiting for me haha). Paris Baguette was new to us and my parents just loved it for the coffee!!!! We’re not really pastry people so we didn’t mind. Oh and baby Joon? THE CUTEST.

In reply to hannah moren. Most of the bread is really really sickly sweet - like garlic bread has sugar on it. If it's not sickly sweet it is greasy or tasteless. If you are in the mood for sweet bread, some people find it okay, but it gets old really fast, especially when you just want something savoury.

I’m curious what’s wrong with the ones in Korea. There are some in the US, and I did go to some in Korea when I travelled alone because it’s too hard to eat alone in Korean restaurants… for me anyway. Everything seems to be group meals. I wasn’t crazy about Paris Baguette, but I was desperate and I don’t really remember how it tasted, so I’m just curious why it’s especially bad.
