Haha, I go through this with some of my Korea friends that I coach in English. They sometimes latch onto a phrase and use it in all kinds of ways it really doesn’t work, and when I tell them, they just keep using it that way because they like the phrase. At first I didn’t get it, until I remembered when I used to walk around saying “걱정 마라” before I ever knew what it meant. I would just say it because I liked the way it sounded. Given that my favorite Korean word is the word for toilet/bathroom (화장실), because of the way it “flows off the tongue” I guess I have no room to talk, lol! Love the blog!

I’m in England and its kinda normal to suddenly come out with ‘yeaaaah well your face.’ or ‘…YOUR FACE!’ when you don’t know how to respond and are just suddenly resorting to random insults or if someone has proven you wrong and totally parred you off. ‘LOOK a+b=c told you!!!’ ‘YOUR FACE!’

I get it, Mr. Gwon. WOW! This brings back great memories. What a small world! When I was in high school in the USA, my friends and I did the exact same thing. We would tease or insult each other, and the other person would say, “your face.” Then we would laugh hysterically!
