They also have a slightly different way of spelling words as well as different words for different things. for example i just navered in naver to find out that
불알 = 전구 ( former is used in south to describe hmmm well i think u should call your hubby the first word to see what reaction you get hahaha..hey booral!~)

its actually a word that south Korean use for a light bulb…^^
I’m sure your use to dialects…your husband is a South South korean and they have a hectic one down there where he is from. No matter what happens try to learn the standard Korean if possible ^^…. it is a hectic dialect they have there in the South….

Yeah I heard North Koreans that get out and come to South Korea have a lot of problems because South Koreans use so many loan words from English, and they don’t know them.
