I do understand what you mean a bit. My husband and I recently moved into his parents home. They are the kindest people and are very welcoming, and my husband is the best husband in the world. Despite all this, there are strains to living here. I miss the independence. I have three people who want to know my schedule, and when I have free time, they have a small list of chores they would like help with. I'm glad to help, but I also have my own list of things as well and they are so nice, I don't want to say no. I also miss controlling my own space. Since it's not my house, I have what food and storage space they can spare me. Granted, it is their house and their space, but coming from having a whole apartment of my own to organize how I please, it is frustrating to have to leave things in the way my in-laws want them. My husband also loves me very much and has a fear that someone will hurt me or something, so I am also not allowed to do some things I would do when I was single. Most are fine, but sometimes it can also be frustrating as well.
Wow, a bit long, sorry. It just sounded a bit similar to things I have been experiencing as well.

I will make sure my Korean skills are a lot better when we have children, but it will still make it difficult.
Sophie is covering a lot of these things on her blog :)

I'm loving these vlogs, it's so interesting to see life in the countryside. It's really interesting to hear about your relationship with your in-laws, do you think if you had a child your role/their expectations of your role in the family would change a lot? Is the language barrier a cause for a lot of the worrying/babying?
My boyfriend is from Singapore, I'm from the US, and I'll be going to stay with his family for a month or so for winter break this year, and I'm so nervous about it, and also curious to see how they function as a family and how it'll be different from my family.
Cultural differences in family life/child rearing are really interesting to me, so I hope you don't think I'm prying.
