I do this a lot, both in English and Spanish. But in particular I remember this from when I was in elementary school. This was around the time kids were discovering bad words and gestures, and one was of course was giving someone the middle finger. The thing is, I never knew if people were saying "flick" someone off or "flip" someone off. Even now I'm not too sure which one my classmates were saying back then!

a true story told to me by one of my English students a very long time ago.

His friends came over from Korea and they were at Bondi Beach at a burger shop somewhere.
One guy approaches the counter confidently and says. 'won bae-yee-kern bur-ga pureez!' ( i am obviously writing it out as how my friend is talking to me in Konglish.) asking for a single bacon burger.
The waiter looks at him and cringes and constantly repeats 'pardon?...i'm sorry?'
So he gently walks back to his group all red faced and scratching his head.
At this moment a hyung who came to Sydney with him says in Korean ' JJa shik!~~~How long have u studied English in Korea man? How many hours and endless amounts of money? what a waste!'
He confidently walks towards the counter and in his unique Gyeong sang nam do Konglish accent

' WON!~~BBA-KON BUR-GA....WON BBA-KON BUR-GA!!' (Ask your hubby Nic to say this in a really high pitched Gyung Sang accent slash English...원....빠콘버가!~~)..
The bloke kept on repeating it until the waiter finally understood what he meant and ordered his burger to the amazement of everyone around him...
