I’m korean and this is so true – my youngest sister is pretty petite and has a pretty small and narrow face. One day a Korean woman came up to her and asked if she “bound” her face – like foot binding, but for your face, I guess?? She totally meant it as a compliment…

Haha any kind of comments about someones face in english sound like an insult! I remember being confused when I went to Japan on exchange and I first got told that my face was small… that and that my nose was ‘tall’… The nose one especially made me think I was being made fun of.
