Yesterday we went to Jinju. We were actually there for most of the day but just filmed bits and pieces. In order to go to Jinju we walk to the next town and catch a bus. It takes about 20 minutes on the bus. Jinju is a city but it’s quite different from Seoul or Busan.
I have seen some foreigners around but really not as many as in Seoul. I’ve only occasionally seen some teachers around other times I’ve been here. So far this time I’ve only seen one foreigner working in a restaurant and she was Cambodian.
In the video it looks like I’m really tall but I’m not. Most of the people around were older people who are usually quite short. Younger generations are taller.
I had an embarrassing moment when we went to the hair salon (which is called something like ‘Hue’ in Korean which is why we were saying it’s his hair salon) and we just spoke in Korean. I thought I was doing pretty well answering in Korean and the owner sat me down with a cup of tea and some magazines while I waited. Hugh’s haircut was finished and he got up and started walking out with the hairdresser so I thought he was going to go pay so I jumped up and got our bags and followed him. Actually they were just going out into another room to wash his hair and the owner said loudly to me in Korean to not go there and to sit down. Then all the hairdressers were laughing at me and the owner makes me go sit down again and laughed at me. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you can understand and speak in Korean and how hard you try because you’ll still make mistakes. In hair salons I go to I Australia, hair is usually washed first, which is why I didn’t expect him to be getting his hair washed and taken out to another room. It was just temporary embarrassment though. Can’t take it too personally when people are laughing at the dumb foreigner!

Mr Gwon isn’t a really moody guy BUT he does have some strange moods sometimes. Sometimes I think he likes to pretend he is the lead male in a Korean drama. You know how they are usually jerks at first?
It’s really not romantic, trust me, it’s just annoying. I should be nice to him because he gave me one chewy mint?! I didn’t draw it in the comic because it would have been too long but he actually made me eat the half first before he gave me a full one. I know he is laughing on the inside but he does it with a really straight face.
This garden originally was just a piece of land owned by New South Wales Rail Corp. It was not being used for anything except a dumping ground for rubbish. Wendy Whitely was the wife of Australian artist of Brett Whitely (who died in 1992). She is an artist in her own right and has created a really beautiful garden. It is open to the public every day but can be hard to find if you have never been there.
There are a few entrances to the garden. We found Lavender street first and found it that way, but we exited out the entrance that was the path that goes past Luna Park.
It is a really nice place, especially if it’s a hot day as it is very enclosed and shady.There are lots of really nice gardens in Sydney but this one is a little bit different. Because it’s cared for by Wendy Whitely and not a council it is a little wilder and with a much more natural design. It has a subtropical rainforest feel to it and if you are really into plants, I’m sure there are many really interesting ones here.
We are really lucky to have a friend do the editing for us and a friend to make the music (JackManFriday). We did edit a few things out that I can share here but maybe not on YouTube. There was more discussion about what switching bodies like in the drama Secret Garden would involve (certain body parts in particular) and those moths and bugs getting a bit frisky? My husband asked, “Are they having love?” I’m not sure what they were doing! Were they “having love”?

I knew what he was doing the whole time but only admitted it after because I knew he was doing it because he cares about me. My health is never the best and he is just trying to help. I could tell right away that it wasn’t normal juice though!
He continued the charade and was all like “Yeessss. It’s nice isn’t it?!”
I actually don’t mind those type of drinks anyway, so I drank it without complaining, but it obviously wasn’t real juice!
So he went and got the 2 kilo container of kimchi. He eats a lot more kimchi than I do. I’m absolutely fine if there is no kimchi on the table. I like it and usually eat a little bit, but I’m not that concerned if we forget it.
He usually makes me try to translate it first and sometimes I can, but sometimes GD writes a lot of slang and I have no idea.
Actually, almost anything I want him to translate online he makes me read out loud first. Sometimes I read the Korean extra badly so he’ll just get annoyed and check it sooner.
