Mr Gwon Time: Back to Korean

This is a new type of video we will be doing. All in Korean! While it’s aimed at Koreans, there will be subtitles for English speakers.

Why did it take so long for Mr Gwon to do a video in all Korean? Well like he said in the video, it’s actually hard to come back to speaking Korean all the time and he often forgets words. Not only that, but Korea doesn’t really have a big YouTuber community and there aren’t that many Koreans doing videos like other countries because there can be a lot of judgement about it. My husband had to break through those fears in order to do this video. While he has become comfortable speaking English on camera…. Korean is another story.

The other announcement we have is that we have a new video schedule!

Monday: There will be a “Commenting on Comments” video where we will talk about some of your comments (and maybe open some fan mail).

Wednesday: This will be the day for “Mr Gwon Time”.

Friday: The video on Friday will always be an “Ask Video” so it could be “Ask Korean Guys”, “Ask the wives of Korean guys”, “Ask GD” or Mr Gwon and I might answer some questions.

There will be videos on other days as well but those ones won’t have a set day. So we will be making at least 3 videos a week for you guys. We also have a bonus channel where we will be putting up some random stuff very soon.

Spring Makeup with Hallyu Back

So on the weekend we got the chance to hang out with Hallyu Back and we made a video together!

Who do you think won? Tell us in the comment section!

Also the check out the video Steph and I made where we play a Charades Challenge Koraen Drama Style!

I have not played a game like that in a long long time…. I am terrible! Make sure you go vote who you think won and check out their YouTube Channel. Steph and I also did a livechat on the weekend together as well, about Asian dramas!

Back To The Countryside

coming back to the countryside (800x800)

We just spent the weekend in Seoul. The contrast between Seoul and the countryside is always interesting. We got off the bus and saw a guy we know, not necessarily a friend, but someone we see around. He offered right away to give us a ride back to the house in his dusty truck. So we put the suitcase in the back and squished into the front. Country hospitality I guess!

On Friday night we hung out with Eat Your Kimchi which was lots of fun. Saturday we went to a wedding and saw some friends and then Sunday we went to Suwon and did a livechat and some collaborations with Hallyu Back.

Busy weekend but so much fun!

Dramas in the Evening

Dramas in the evening

He doesn’t watch that many dramas. If he watches one it tends to be a more serious one, whereas I tend to watch the romantic popular ones. I do like watching dramas with him but there are only certain dramas he will watch with me and even then it takes some persuasion. We watched A Gentleman’s Dignity and Reply 1997 together and are making our way through Reply 1994. Dramas like City Hunter he gave up on because of the romance.

That’s why it’s so funny that he is getting emotionally involved in these dramas that his parents watch in the evening. They are completely cliche soap operas but he watches them every night. Last night he got into a heated argument with his father about the characters…

Sit Down to Eat

Every time we sit down to eat

Do you enjoy the food photos he posts on his Facebook and Instagram? I suffer because of them! Okay only for a few minutes. I’m not allowed to eat until he has taken a photo or video. He takes photos of everything he eats, even if he doesn’t post it online.

We are going to revamp his website soon and we are thinking maybe it should just be a food blog? What do you think?

Sexy at home?

Sexy at home

You know how in Korean dramas the guys wear casual but stylish clothes at home? It’s all a lie! This is what they are really wearing (don’t try to deny it Korean guys!).

I really noticed the contrast yesterday because he bought some new clothes and he looked so nice and handsome, but then he changes into this…. it can be a mood killer. 99% of the time this is what he is wearing at home. There isn’t even a tshirt under the jacket! And why do Korean guys complain about their military service constantly but insist on wearing military clothing for the rest of their lives? Haha.. anyway it makes me laugh… and then I go back to watching Korean dramas full of men wearing nice clothes.

So guys in Korea tend to dress really well when they go out in public, seriously some of the fashion here is so great… but it’s a different story behind closed doors.

(The point of this comic isn’t about just Korean guys dressing down inside because most people do that, it’s just my observations of the contrast of being extremely fashionable outside and the interesting style choices at home).
